Wet Pipe System

The wet pipe system is the simplest and most common type of fire sprinkler installation. Wet systems are frequently installed in factories, warehouses, and office buildings where the potential for freezing does not exits.

Operation

When a sprinkler opens in Viking dry system, loss of pressure int he system allows the dry valve clapper to open, filling the system with water. An accelerator can be added to large systems to speed the opening of the dry valve. Water flow from the intermediate chamber of the dry valve can: pressurize a Viking pressure switch to activate an electric alarm, operate a mechanical water motor alarm, or operate both the electric and mechanical Alarms simultaneously.
